Our relationship with time is illusory and objective. Some cultures view time as a linear narrative, while others interact with time as a fluid entity, existing across the past, present, and future. In this project, I wanted to explore the idea of time as an — giving an intangible thought a form of being. What represents time? What reveals it? And how can we understand a fluid concept through something stagnant?
Inspired by an old Maori proverb, the title of the project describes my intent with my photographs, attempting to interact with time as a nonlinear experience.
This body of work is an in-progress project that will be continued over the next year. These are some of the initial photographs.
